Why do most carbon compunds are poor conductors of electricity???

lack of free ions and hence electricity is not conducted....!!!!!!

Because carbon compounds form covalent bonds, so it doesn't give rise to free electrons & carbon compound does not dissolve into ions therefore carbon compounds are poor conductor of electricity.
