Because it sublimes (changes directly from a solid to a vapor) at room temperature. Moth balls are vaporisable substance so they easily turn into vapour , they can turn into vapor because the intermolecular force is very weak so it easily vaporises to gas

Moth balls r naphthalene balls to b exact .
These are highly sublime , as due to their weak bonds , they need very less heat to evaporate.
That aint magic , thats science !
