Why do my ad frogs live under water and never come to the serfice?

All are amphibians, but their behavior is very different when it comes to their relationship with water. ... If water is very still and there's no flow, then only the water's surface is highly oxygenated and under some circumstances, deeper ... So a toad is not likely able to stay underwater as long as an aquatic frog.

Mosquito larvae are very important in aquatic ecology. Many other insects and small fish feed on them and the loss of that food source would cause their numbers to decline as well.
