Why do needles have pointed tips on which factor does the effect of force produced on an object depends?

\huge\mathfrak\red{Answer}

Pressure is inversely proportional to area. A pointed tip will have a very small area. So, when we try to sew or pin up the papers, we apply force over a very small area, and this results in a large pressure. This makes it easy to sew or pin up the papers.

The effect of force acting on an object depends on the surface area of the object on which the force is exerted. This is because of the pressure difference.

Answer:

needles are used for stitching, sewing etc where it is required to weave in and out of the threads of fabric. in order to do this, the pressure applied by needle on surface of objects should be more. pressure is inversely proportional to radius of curvature. hence the sharp point of needles allows them to have less radius of curvature which causes them to exert maximum pressure on any surface.

Hope this answer helps you... :)
