Why do noble gases like xenon and krypton bond if they are already stable?

Xenon and Krypton are noble gases, means they have fully filled orbitals. In their excited state their electrons of valance shell jump onto the vacant orbitals. Due to these unpaired electrons Xe and Kr form bonds.
