We should not touch electrical appliances with wet hands because our body is a good conductor of electricity and since we may get electric shocks. A conductor allows electricity to pass through it and so our body is.

Note:- If an appliance falls into a tub of water or a sink, or if you touch an electrical appliance with wet hands or while standing in water, you risk severe electrical shock or possibly death. Never use any electric appliance, including hair dryers, TVs, and radios, near water-filled sinks, bathtubs or toilets.

Answer:

When you touch a switch with wet hands, there is a possibility of water going inside the switch and coming in contact with the exposed metallic electrical parts of the switch. Water, being a good conductor of electricity will immediately pass the current to your body through your hands resulting in a mild to severe shock to you depending on the water content.

To avoid this possibility of an electric shock with a threat to your life, it is advised that we should not operate an electrical switch with wet hands!
