Why do not two magnetic lines of force intersect each other?​

Pre requisite knowledge:

If a magnetic compass is placed near a magnet, it points to the direction of field lines.

Magnetic field lines never intersect.

★ Let us prove this by contradictory method.

So, let us assume that 2 magnetic field lines intersect each other.

★ Now, at that point place a magnetic compass.

It should point the direction of magnetic field line.

★ When 2 magnetic field lines intersect each other, the compass should point at 2 directions which is not possible.

So, magnetic field lines never intersect.

  • The process of producing electric current by change in Magnetic field is called Electro-magnetic Induction.

This was invented by Michael Faraday.
