When the density of object is greater than water daily object will sink.
when the density of object is less than water then object will float.
the object float or sink in liquid because its density.

objects with tightly packed molecules are denser and sink.objects with more loosely packed molecules are less dense and float. whether an object sinks or floats depends on its density others have molecules that are packed more loosely . this is density
