Oils have a very low melting point that is why they remain in a liquid state even in winter.

Explanation:

  • Melting point is a state in which as ‘substance’ changes from a ‘solid to a liquid’.
  • Since oil have very low melting point they do not turn to a solid state even at very low temperatures, whereas in the case of any other liquid such as water which has a very high melting point easily solidifies from a liquid state.
