Why do organisms need air ?How do organisms affected by air pollution?

It is vital that organisms respire to get the oxygen for living cells to function. Without air, there is no life. Plants use Carbon Dioxide (together with sunlight and water) to produce energy and give out Oxygen as a by-product. This oxygen is what almost all animalsneed to survive.

Air pollutants can poison organism through the disruption of endocrine function, organ injury, increased vulnerability to stresses and diseases, lower reproductive success, and possible death.
