The normally consolidated clay has a low stress history when compared to its present stress. It will show no cohesion except some friction angles. One of the basic reason for the low stress of normally consolidated clay is its extraction from remolded samples that destroys the stress history completely.
Despite of normally consolidated clay over consolidated clay have high level stress and so it will show high cohesion during a test run.
