why do particles settle down in suspension

the particles are spread evenly throughout the dispersion medium which can be a solid liquid or gas because the dispersed particles of a colloid or not as large as those a suspension they do not settle out upon standing.

a suspension is a heterogeneous mixture in which the small particles of a solid are spread throughout a liquid without dissolving in it.

the size of the solute particles in a suspension is quite large. it is larger than 100nm in diameter.

therefore, the particle size of suspension settle down.

the suspension are unstable. the particles of a suspension settle dpwn after some time.
