Why do passengers jumping out of a rapidly moving bus fall forward with his

It's because of inertia of motion and rest. when the person is in the bus its whole body is in a state of motion. When he suddenly jumps off the bus and stands on the road, the lower part of his body suddenly comes to rest while the upper part is still in motion(forward i.e the direction of bus).

so if we suddenly step down form a moving bus our body is still moving (law of inertia) due to this we cant control our body and fall on the ground (ouch)
if we run a bit forward the we can slow down and finally stop safely and not fall.
