Most smart people eat plenty of fish. Not just the ones who live in coastal areas. They do this because fish is very beneficial for humans to eat. I do not believe that people who live nearer the coast eat more fish. I believe that people with plenty of money to spend can afford to eat more fish, in particular, locally caught fish because local fish is more than double the price of imported fish.
