earlier in rajasthan people were nomads, ie they moves from place to place in search of food and water.
they settled at places near the source of water ,places where water was available and left as soon as the place became dry.
but nowadays the people are permanent settlers and their population has also increased. this might be the reason for the people in rajasthan not to face water shortage earlier
