It is what we call greed. We simply cannot get enough out of anything. Besides, someone crossing the line of any sort considers himself to be a hero. Such a sense leads to another and so on.

Liberty is man's best friend. Without freedom we are all like the caged birds, confined and restrained. However man has a tendency to abuse his freedom.
Freedom with restrictions is fine, but when a person is given total freedom with no restraints that person begins to do whatever he wants and as man yields fast to temptations, absolute freedom makes man do immoral things that are neither good for him nor for the others around him. Thus too much of unchecked freedom makes man abuse it.
