Why do plant cells possess large sized vacuole? Justify your answer by stating any two points.

Plant cells are known to have bigger vacuoles than that of animal cells as they need to store food and water. This is because the plant don't possess the ability to move freely like that of animals. Thus, they possess large vacuoles as a reservoir in unfavorable conditions.

Plant cells possess large sized vacuoles since the main function of the vacuoles are as follows:

* Vacuoles store Anthocyannins which is a kind of pigment, observed only in plant cells.

* Vacuoles provides a certain degree of turgidity to the plant cells by pressing the Cell Wall.

However, the basic function of Vacuoles for storage (storage of water, food and other waste products) is same in both-

Plant Cells as well as in Animal Cells.

Therefore, by stating these two points, we can conclude that Plant Cells possess large sized vacuoles.
