why do plants and animals living in water deprived of oxygen​

They are deprived because there is no oxygen in water.

Sometimes when the water is polluted or excess of oxygen consuming aquatic plants grow in the water that time the amount of dissolved oxygen decreases.

This leads to the deprivation of oxygen for other forms of aquatic life
