Plants appear green due to the presence of pigment chlorophyll in it. Chlorophyll does not absorb the green and yellow colours of the spectrum while blue and red are absorbed.

Plants appear green since they absorb red and blue light and reflect green light.

Later the absorbed light is used in the process of photosynthesis.

Therefore plants appear green in colour.

Hope it helps..............
