HEY MATE HERE IS YOUR ANSWER
nitrogen is so vital because it is a major component of chlorophyll compound by which the plants use sun light energy to produce sugars from water and carbon dioxide that is photosynthesis nitrogen is also a major components of amino acids, the building blocks of proteins. without proteins plants wither and die. and about78% of air around us is nitrogen gas plants need it mainly for synthesizing nutrients but they cannot make it from the atmosphere directly microorganisms like rhizobium nostoc Ana Bina and azotobacter help to provide these essential elements to the plants by absorbing them from atmosphere to form certain compounds and then fixing them into the soil that can be taken up by plants

FOR EXAMPLE- rhizobium bacteria are present in root nodules of Bean family(leguminacea). rhizobium converts atmosphere nitrogen into nitrates and stored in roots. plants use this stored nitrates plants gives shelter to rhizobium decorate one another and this corporate life is called Symbiosis .soil fertility increase in growing legume crops in the fields.

And plants are obtaining nitrogen from chemical fertilisers also. These fertilisers are sold in the market by the names Urea,D.A.P.,Superphospate,Potash which are enriched with nitrogen, phosphorus, potash
