Why do plants produce a large number of fruits

All seeds in a fruit do not germinate to produce new plants. Some seeds never germinate. Some of them germinate but, their plants die before reaching maturity. To overcome these problems plants produce a large number of seeds.

  3. after the ripening of fruit, seeds are thrown away which again germinates into the a new plant.
