why do producers always occupy the first trophic level in every food chain

the first trophic level of the foodchain is always occupied by Green plants which are termed to b producer. this is because ,producers absorb sunlight ,abiotic Factor and fix it into foodchain. this energy is transferred to organisms in other trophic level of the foodchain.
