Puris float on oil as the hot oil makes the puri to rise up and gets filled up with air. The air being lighter than the oil makes the puris to float on oil. Hope this helps!

Answer:

The puris float on the oil by frying because of the water vapour that arises interally while frying of the puris.

Explanation:

The puris are made up of wheat or maida flour that is turned into a dough after mixing with water. Water has a tendency to boil and get converted into steam above 100ºC.

Thus in a frying pan when this conversion happens to the water entrapped in the dough, the water vapour formed makes the puris float.
