why do rough endoplasmic reticulum look rough under microscope

Hii..

RER looks rough when seen under microscope because of presence of ribosomes i.e they are present as nodules on the outer membrane of rough endoplasmic reticulum

Hence they appear as rough and granular when seen under microscope

Rough Endoplasmic reticulum looks rough when observed under the microscope as it has presence of ribosomes on its outer surface which help it in the protein synthesis...
