Why do saprophytic and parasitic plant cannot prepare their food?

Hello,,

The saprophytic and parasitic plants cannot prepare their own food because they are non- green plant .Thus, they depend on the host plant or the other green plants to obtain their food.
For Example - Cuscuta.
