why do sea animals use sounds and not sight to navigate the deep seas

Sound vibrations travel better underwater than light. The light has to follow the Tyndall effect to reach eyes of marine animals. But sound vibrations can flow through water and reach them. That's why aquatic animals navigate under seas and oceans using sound, that is, they hear signals.
