The wet soil contains some water content. Those water will be absorb by seed. when they absorbs water, their cells become expands which makes the cell as hydrated one. after becoming hydrated, the hull become soften and thegets germinated by breaking the hull. such that the growth initiating process takes place.
Prove by an activity:
1. take some seeds
2. keep them in a wet cloth such that they absorbs water from it
3. leave it for a day
4. next day you find that the seeds are germinated.
5. this is due to the process that we mentioned above.
