seeds require water from soil so when they are in wet soil it is easier for them to absorb water through osmosis.

For the growth of seeds into plants, water is needed.Water is very essential for seeds/plants to grow. Plants make their own food in the process of photosynthesis. Photosynthesis requires carbon dioxide, water, sunlight and chlorophyll.
