Why do ships not sink in water (ocean/sea) ?

The ships displaces equal amount of water according to its weight, also it's density is low as compared to the water (ocean).

maybe because the ships use more area and less mass so the buoyant or upward force is more or equal. and also the oceans water contains salt so it have high density which can also be the reason.
