why do sillver articles turns black and copper item turn green after sometimes

Both the articles get corroded .
in the case of silver , it reacts with hydrogen sulphide present in the air to form Ag2S which turns it black.
in ccase of copper , it reacts with water i.e moisture and CO2 to form CuCO3.Cu(OH)2
