a clear cloudless day time sky appear blue because molecules in the air scatter blue light from the sun more, as compared to red light due to its shorter wavelength but sky appears us red during sunrise and sunset because at that time the sun was at a long distance from us and only red light remains due to their long wavelength

When sun is near horizon during sunset and sunrise, most of colours of less wavelength are scattered by dust particles in atmosphere and red colour is not scattered. During noon sky appears blue as blue colour is not scattered near equator. This the reason, sky is blue and red at sunshine and sunset.
