Explanation:

Solid expand on heating because particles of matter loose there original configuration due to thermal energy provided in the form of heating radiation and expand due to vibrational motion of particles in a series..

hope this will help you.

thank you

Answer:

Solids expand on heating in which the tightly packed molecules receives heat and starts to vibrate vigorously . The vigorously moving molecules passes the energy to its neighboring molecules  by the heat transferring process, conduction. When heat is added to a solid  the molecules and atoms vibrate faster. As atoms vibrate faster, the intermolecular space between atoms increases. When heat leaves all substances, the molecules vibrate slower.

When a solid is heated, its atoms vibrate faster about their fixed points. ... An increase in temperature results in the expansion of the liquid which means it rises up the glass.
