\bf{As\:you\:know,}

A \bf{strong} intermolecular forces act between constituent particles of solid.also intermolecular spaces in case of solid are very less .due to this reason, the constituent particles of solid cannot move from their position . they can only vibrate from their mean position. that's why solid have a definite volume.

Answer :

Solids have low thermal energy and high intermolecular forces of attraction, therefore, they cannot move, i.e., occupy fixed position and that is why they have fixed volume.
