Why do solids have a fixed shape but gases neither have a fixed shape nor a fixed volume?

solids have a fixed shape because the attraction between the particles is very strong . Gases do not have a fixed shape because the forces of attraction between the particles is very small.

because the particles of solids are tightly packed and intermolecularspace is very low so solids has fixed shape
gases dont have fixed volume because the intermolecular space in it is minimum and intermolecular atteraction is also low so, they dont have definate volume and shape
