Why do solids have a fixed shape but liquids take the shape of the container in which they are placed ?? Plz answer the following question..​

Explanation:solids have a fixed shape because the molecules in it are more tightly packed.

Liquid takes the shape of the container in which they are poured because the molecules in it are not so tightly packed than in solids.

That is why liquid can float and thus takes the shape of the container

solids have a fixed shape whereas liquids don't have because the particles of solids are tightly packed ( compact ) and have no spaces in between them.The intermolecular force is high in solids .The particles of liquids are not very close to each other and hence have spaces in between them. The intermolecular force is less in liquids.
