In liquid molecules are close to each other. The molecules does not have lot of space between them .The molecules can not squeezed closer to one another.

Hii....
Here is your answer
________________________________________
It is mainly because of the Lattice structure of them and the cohesive forces between the molecules. Solids are tightly packed and force between the atoms are more compared to liquid, which is loosely packed compared to solids. Gases are hardly in free space, their lattice energy is less. Hence they show different properties even if they are made of the same element.
Hope it helps!!
