Why do some animals have hair on their bodies

A simple answer to your question is that all mammals have hair. ... But a good guess would be that we evolved hair (or fur) to conserve body heat. Mammals are warm-blooded, which means that we require a high internal body temperature to survive. Very few animals other than mammals are warm-blooded.
