why do some areas in india receive winter rainfall

The some areas of India get heavy snow ❄ fall and some areas will not get any snow❄ fall.
Because the half of the Indian Country is in temperate zone and half of the India is in polar zone. The areas which are in temperate zone will not get snow fall and the areas which are in the polar zone will get snow❄❄❄ fall. I think the answer is correct.
