Some birds are ok with human presence i.e they trust us. They feel that there is no harm building a nest in the residencial areas. There are a lot of predators that may harm them but due to human presence they'll not come near the nest i.e protecting the nest.

In human houses it is very easy to get food and water. So they don't have to go searching for the food and water. So it makes the whole nesting period very easy.

The source of food would be another reason.
