Why do some liquid medicines kept in dark coloured bottles?

They are kept soo to protect them from sunlight... and from getting evaporated too.....

some medicinal liquids are very much volatile so that when they are kept in light coloured bottles they evaporate very fastly.So they are kept in dark colour bottle to prevent them from evaporating .
