Some plants feed on insects because they donot get the sufficient nitrogen content from the soil as they grow in dry and marshy areas so they take the all nutrients from the insects.

As the the insect sits on the slippery part of the pitcher it sticks and fall inside the pitcher and and digested by the plant.

Insectivorous Plants are plants which feed on insects

Insectivorous Plants grow in soil which do not contain sufficient nitrogen mineral.

But These plants are green and need to carry out photosynthesis to obtain a part of the food required.

So, insectivorous plants feed on insects to obtain the nitrogen needed for their growth.
