some lead their life in the soil which is poor in nitrogen content
for that nitrogen they mainly depend on insects which is rich with nitrogen nothing but their excreta
and the plants attract the insects with its specific odour (mostly its bad smell) and trap them in their net and release some insect digesting enzymes and take away the nitrogen content from it . and enjoys its meal ;-)

hi friend , some some plants such as the Pitcher plant have the lack of Nitrogen and thus by capturing and feeding on insects it completes the lack of Nitrogen.
