So, some roots grow upward and come above the ground. These roots posses several tiny pores on their surface, by which they can intake oxygen and release carbon di oxide.These pores are called lenticel.Pneumatophores is a kind of root modification for the Mangroovesplants.

pneumatophores. refers to those plants which grows on marshy lands....such as mangroves....
pneumatophores is a type of advanced root in those plants that grows outward of surface of water to exchange o2 and co2 coz the water in which those plants grew have large salt contents and hence plants are not able to respire due to high concentration of salt...
