Why do some solids diffuse in liquids but not in gases, and some solids diffuse in gas but not in liquids?

This happens because some solid state have more diffusion were seen liquid. For example you added small crystals of potassium permanganate in water it is slowly diffused in liquid not in gases. And when the solid diffused in gases not in liquid because it produces more kinetic energy and diffuses like a gas

generally it depends on particles size. ... there is less intermolecular space between particles of water than in air so particles of solid and liquid are packed tightly. and some solids diffuse in air because they need more intermolecular space that air can provide but water can not
