Why do sperms have a tail but ovum does not have it

A sperm cell is the male reproductive cell and a mature human sperm cell has snake like structure. A male sperm cell comprises the following parts - head, neck, middle piece and tail. The head carries the genetic information, neck contains enzymes, middle piece supplies energy to the sperm and the tail helps the sperm to swim in the female genital tract.
