Why do stainless steel utensils not rust on exposure to air​

It is because it is Rustless it is a mixture of iron with chromium and nickel

Chromium plays a dominant role to reacting with oxygen to form this corrosion film , stainless steal utensils will not rust because it is sufficiently reactive to protect itself from further attack by forming a passive corrosion product layer
