actually the have not worked hard to shine bright ....
but due to atmospheric refraction the path of light coming from stars- which are very far from us and thus the light appears to be a source of light.
the path of light changes and thus.....when it enters our eyes our mind interprets that it lies somewhere above it actually was.....
and thus we see stars higher than the actual...
