Why do star twinkle ???

sachi1315: they are self luminous ...
jack6778: Stars twinkle due to atmospheric refraction of starlight. As the stars are very far away, they behave as almost point sources of light. A son account of atmospheric refraction, the path of rays of light coming from the star goes on varying slightly, the apparent position of the star fluctuates and the amount of starlight entering the eye flickers. So, sometimes, the star appears brighter and at some other time, fainter. Thus, the stars twinkle

ANSWER :-

BECAUSE

Stars do not really twinkle, they just appear to twinkle when seen from the surface of Earth. The stars twinkle in the night sky because of the effects of our atmosphere. When starlight enters our atmosphere it is affected by winds in the atmosphere and by areas with different temperatures and densities

stars twinkle due to atmospheric refraction of starlight . the star light passes through atmospheric medium of gradually changing refractive index. so it is reflected multiple Times as the Apparent position of star and the physical condition of the earth's atmosphere are not constant the amount of light entering the eye flickers and give the twinkling effect .
