it looks smaller from Earth because its too far from our planet,as we know that everything that is far from us looks smaller in size for example: whenever your friend calls you from a long distance you see your friend very small in size..so distance matters in seeing the objects too if there is short distance we see object bigger and whenever there is long distance between two bodies,we see it smaller than before.
