due to presence of another gases in the stars, to seems to be glow in the night time

saivivek16: yes , it is.
saivivek16: but refraction doesn't matter here
Xosmos: Refraction on earth causes the location of the star to change from time to time
Xosmos: This causes the twinkling effect
saivivek16: it is out of the matter
Xosmos: Stars have gases that always keep them glowing that does not cause it to twinkle
Lazytriangle: I think its cause of bending of light due to refraction
Xosmos: Yes
Lazytriangle: as the light enters the earth it passes through various layers of the atmosphere causing it to refract
Lazytriangle: and it appears to twinkle

Due to changes in refractive index of atmosphere.

When the light of star enters the earth's atmosphere it is refracted by many layers of atmosphere.

We find that stars are twinkling............

Xosmos: Correct answer is this one
